Brenda Southerland, LCSW, CCM

A native of East Tennessee, Brenda graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a BA in Psychology in 1986.  In 1990, she earned a graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is a Certified Case Manager (CCM).  Brenda has worked exclusively in health care settings, primarily focusing on geriatrics.  She draws upon 18 years of experience in hospital, home health care, and psychiatric settings.  She maintains membership in the National Association of Social Workers, the Case Management Society, the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.  Brenda often presents community education programs on various topics related to aging.  She resides in Maryville, Tennessee with her husband, son, and three dogs.

Connie Taylor, LCSW

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Connie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Clemson University in 1983 and her Master’s of Social Work from the University of South Carolina in 1988.  Connie gained experience working with seniors and their families in home health, hospice, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes in South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee.  She is active in many community and professional organizations, including East Tennessee ElderWatch, the Knox County Office on Aging, the Tennessee Society of Health Care Social Workers, and the National Association of Social Workers.  Connie is also a member of the National Guardianship Association and the American Association of Daily Money Managers.  She lives in Maryville, Tennessee with her husband, daughter, and assorted farm animals.

Susan C. Millard, LCSW

Susan was born in Chambley, France and is a Naturalized Citizen.  She was raised as an “Air Force Brat” in Little Rock, Arkansas; Tampa, Florida; Japan; and Hawaii before her father retired from the military and returned to his roots in Middle Tennessee.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s of Social Work from the University of Tennessee.  Her background includes home health and inpatient psychiatric care.  Prior to becoming an LCSW, Susan determined Medicaid/TennCare eligibility for the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services.  She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). Since 9/11, Susan has been a Disaster Mental Health Volunteer for the American Red Cross.  She is also a Board member for Kids in Crisis Support (KICS).  Susan maintains a residence in Nashville, Tennessee.
