Welcome to the Knoxville Area Senior Resource Network (KASRN) Listserv.

As the listserv manager of KASRN, Senior Care Consultants, Inc. (SCC, Inc.) would like all its members to have a positive experience and therefore has established the following etiquette guidelines and rules.

By joining and using the listserv, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to follow the rules, etiquette guidelines, and disclaimer printed below. Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines.  If you have questions, please contact SCC, Inc.

Listserv Etiquette

• No anonymous messages are permitted. Use signatures/contact information so everyone can be aware of the person initiating the email. A signature can be created and used for all emails through the user’s email program.
• To make a private response to a listserv email, be sure to select the “reply” option.
• To make a group-wide response to a listserv email, select the “reply to all” option.
• Only use “reply to all” when your response contains information relevant to the entire group.

The Rules

• Fees for services or products may not be discussed on the listserv. Due to antitrust laws, messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate any agreement that leads to price fixing, a boycott of another’s business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, salaries, and termination of customers or suppliers. Requests for fee information regarding services or products offered by members of the listserv must be discussed outside the listserv environment.
• Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, or threatening messages. The listserv is not a forum to discuss or resolve conflicts.
• Improper communications include messages expressing religious or political opinions.
• Do not use any client/patient identifiable information on the listserv.
• Do not post any copyrighted materials without the permission of the copyright owner.
• The listserv is not a marketing tool to be used to send out long, detailed messages about a product or service. No mass marketing messages, such as newsletters, are allowed. Members are, however, encouraged to send brief, succinct messages regarding new products and services or significant changes in existing businesses.
• Members should keep in mind that the listserv is an email resource. Do not respond to requests for information by phoning members unless they specifically request a phone call.
• If you wish to clarify whether an intended message will be considered appropriate, or if you believe a message you have received contains inappropriate content, please contact SCC, Inc. at (865) 579-5886 or sencare@bellsouth.net.

Disciplinary Procedures

If a member is found by SCC, Inc. to have posted a message that is violation of the rules as stated above, the following steps will be taken:

• A warning, including an explanation of the violation, will be sent directly to the member.
• In the case of a second violation, the member will again be notified of the nature of the violation and will be informed that a third instance will result in removal from the listserv.
• In the case of a third violation, the member will be removed from the listserv.

The KASRN listserv is provided for the benefit of its members. SCC, Inc. is not responsible for the opinions and information posted on the KASRN listserv. Postings represent the viewpoint of the writer and are not endorsed by SCC, Inc. Since KASRN is a public forum, users of the listserv do not have a presumed or personal right of privacy in any messages on the listserv. As a member of the KASRN listserv, members agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SCC, Inc. and its officers, members, and employees against all loss, expense, damage, including attorney fees and related costs, litigation and threatened litigation arising out of or related to the members’ use of the listserv.  SCC, Inc. reserves the right to make changes and modifications to the listserv and these disclaimers, terms, and conditions at anytime for any reason.

Service Fee

SCC charges an annual service fee of $20 to those wishing to join the KASRN listserv.  The service fee covers setup costs, administrative time, and advertisements to increase the listserv membership and participation.
